Ready to keep your Fresh Foam running shoes? New Balance has you covered with the introduction of the Ellipse Daily Running Shoe, a fresh take on the classic Fresh Foam X technology. After a decade of using Fresh Foam, New Balance is moving on to a brand-new Infinion supercritical foam for its 15th iteration of the 1080 daily running franchise. But for those who can't let go of the specific sensation, the Ellipse v1 is a new option featuring Fresh Foam X, offering a lower price point than the 1080v15. The Ellipse v1 will launch in March with a highly cushioned tongue and collar, forgiving stretch laces, and a unique midsole shape with pod-like shapes at contact points that bridge the gap between the 1080v14 and 1080v15. The breathable mesh upper carries a Swooping gradient pattern that delivers lifestyle appeal. Stack height is 37.8mm with an 8mm drop, and a men's size 9.5 weighs 274 grams. 'The Ellipse celebrates all who run, whether logging their first miles or recovering after race day, by delivering an elevated cushioned experience and a rockered profile that helps keep things easy on the body,' said Kevin Fitzpatrick, New Balance global vice president of running, in a press release. 'It's designed to motivate runners of all types to get out there and enjoy their run.' On the lifestyle front, New Balance will launch another new model called the 1890 in March. The Ellipse v1 will release on March 5 through New Balance's website and stores, as well as additional stockists. Men's and women's sizing will each get seven colorways at launch, and pricing is set at $145.
